This procedure removes excess fat, glandular tissue, and skin, as well as the size of the areola if needed, the breasts will become smaller, firmer and lighter.
Large breasts can be a cause of embarrassment, discomfort, back ache and can impair the ability to lead an active life, not to mention emotional and self-image issues. The goal of this surgery is to give women smaller, better shaped breasts proportionate to their bodies.
The patient must share her expectations and questions with the surgeon at the initial consultation. The surgeon will explain the technique he will be using, how to prepare for surgery and the post op recovery.
The surgery requires that the patient stay overnight in the hospital. Small tubes will be placed in each breast to drain blood for couple of days. Some pain will be experienced at first, especially when moving, but it will diminish with time to simple discomfort. Your surgeon will prescribe some painkiller when needed.
The bandage will be removed a few days after surgery, and you should wear a surgical bra for 4-6 weeks.
